“I had gotten buried in [my manuscript] and needed perspective on the most basic level: Does this work? Should I stick with it? I got answers to that and so much more.” — Stacia Tolman
Manuscript-assessment coaching is a focused and cost-effective way to identify the best next steps for developing/revising your manuscript. I will note both the strengths of your writing and 3-5 aspects of the work that need more attention. The emphasis of this assessment is on story-level issues, like plot, structure, character arc, pacing, and setting. You can choose this service for a full manuscript, an incomplete manuscript, or a single chapter or scene.
Because writers find it most fruitful to work on one fairly small set of goals at a time, the focused outline of notes I will prepare for you allows you not only to break up the revision process into achievable steps, but also to revise your work on a limited budget. The reasonable cost also makes it easy to reach out again for support as needed, as you continue to move the work forward.
- After I read your work, we’ll meet for an hour via Zoom, when I’ll provide you with my suggestions and insights about your work, and respond to your questions and concerns. This is also an opportunity for us to brainstorm additional ways to achieve your next steps for enhancing your work.
 - Within two days of the Zoom consultation, I’ll email you an outline of notes based on our discussion.
