“She has helped me identify the moments in my writing when I was backing away from the real story or descending into repetition.” — Michael Lauchlan
A written manuscript assessment is a careful, detailed review your book’s strengths and potential, and includes specific advice for moving forward. The assessment focuses on “big picture” story-level issues such as point of view, plot and structure, character arc, and pacing. My goal is to identify your next steps for revision, to suggest options and examples — all to help you feel excited about revising your work.
- You’ll receive an assessment letter (2,000 to 5,000 words) of my insights and advice.
 - We’ll follow up with a Zoom conversation, to discuss any questions you may have about the assessment — and to brainstorm more options for revision.

A written manuscript assessment is especially well suited to an experienced writer and/or a writer who will be able to work independently after receiving a detailed written description of the work’s strengths and needs. If you feel you need more ongoing guidance as you revise, consider a manuscript-assessment coaching session.
